GOD'S AMAZING CREATION
God's Amazing Creation
Have you ever stopped to consider how all of creation points us back to God? Think about the amazing aspects of creation around us, like the colors of a chamelion's skin, or how a cuttlefish can mimic not just color but texture. The variance and colors of flowers and even our own body brings glory to God. Paul said in Romans 1:18-20,
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"
Even those who reject God stand in awe at the intricacy and working of the human body. Consider some of these facts:
*Your heart beats about 100,000 times a day to pump 2,000 gallons of blood through its chambers.
*You take on average 17,000 breaths a day and rarely stop to think about any of them.
*Your brain is constantly thinking, an estimated 50-60,000 thoughts a day. If there is impairment your brain elasticity can reroute to accomplish what the body needs. You can constantly learn through your lifetime even increasing your IQ (which may help stave off degenerative conditions like Alzheimer's).
*Cells in your stomach lining produce an alkaline to neutralize the acid so that it doesn't dissolve the stomach.
*You blink about 28,800 times a day to keep your eyes clean and moist. Your eyes move in four different ways including one called saccades, without which stationary objects around you would blur into nothingness. Since a great deal of information we take in is visual this is critical.
*Your skin is constantly regenerating. You shed about a million cells a day. Your skin is your largest organ, and protects you from bad stuff getting in, while cooling by allowing excess moisture to be released.
*Your salivary glands produce 1.5 liters of fluid a day. This not only keeps your mouth moist but aids in digestion.
*Your liver manufactures cholestorol, vitamin D, produces bile, filters blood and even stores nutrients for future use. It filters 1.5 quarts of blood a minute every minute.
*Your kidneys, also blood filters, expel an average of 2.5 pints of urine every day.
These are just a few of the amazing things your body does every day mostly without us even thinking about it. God marvelously designed our bodies to function and reproduce. Yet sin has entered our world and wreaked havoc upon us. But consider how amazing it is that we can see these marvels despite sin's degenrative effect. Truly the Psalmist was correct, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
